KS2 History Workshop: Crime and Punishment
Welcome to Mr Dilly’s Upper Key Stage 2 Crime and Punishment school workshop! Travel through time to discover how societies dealt with law-breakers in the Romans, Tudors and Victorians. Packed with grisly facts, fun role play and plenty of audience participation, this interactive workshop shows children just how brutal — and sometimes bizarre — punishments could be. From gladiators to guillotines, crime and punishment has never been so entertaining!

What will the children will experience?
Step into the shoes of a Roman governor, dishing out punishments and deciding life or death with a dramatic thumbs up or thumbs down.
Take part in a mock arena battle, where the audience decides the fate of the gladiators.
Meet Mr B. Head the Tudor Executioner, and watch a fun mock beheading as children discover the top Tudor punishments.
Learn about crime in Victorian times, with pupils dressing up as poor pickpockets and being “arrested” by Mr Dilly.
Experience a Victorian courtroom trial, with children taking the roles of policemen, thieves, and even the judge!
