Part of Mr Dilly’s World of History, each episode combines on-location filming, artefacts, curator insight, expert guests, author conversations and Mr Dilly’s high-energy presenting to make history vivid, accessible and memorable.
From Roman Britain and Ancient Egypt to D-Day, World War Two and remembrance, these episodes explore not just what happened, but why it mattered — with big historical questions, powerful human stories and appearances from Mr Dilly in character.
Designed especially for KS2 and lower KS3 / ages 7–13 / UK Years 3–8 / US Grades 2–8, with plenty for families and curious minds too.

Travel back nearly 2,000 years with Mr Dilly to Fishbourne Roman Palace, the largest Roman residence in Britain, to explore mosaics, artefacts, Roman gardens, daily life and the impact of Roman rule.
Back in the studio, Mr Dilly is joined by public historian, author and broadcaster Greg Jenner for a lively discussion about how Roman Britain still shapes our lives today — from roads, towns and trade to technology, culture and power.
Along the way, pupils meet Mr Dilly in character as figures from Roman Britain, including Caratacus, a warrior from Boudicca’s tribe and a Roman elite enjoying life at the baths.

Back in the studio, Mr Dilly is joined by historian, broadcaster and author Iszi Lawrence for a fascinating conversation about Ancient Egyptian rituals, traditions, stories and beliefs.
The episode also features Mr Dilly in character as Eddie the Embalmer in a funny, slightly gruesome short film about mummification.

Join Mr Dilly at The D-Day Story, Portsmouth, for a powerful curriculum-linked exploration of the Second World War, D-Day and remembrance.
Through artefacts, personal stories, the Overlord Embroidery and the historic landing craft LCT 7074, pupils discover the human stories behind D-Day and reflect on why remembrance still matters today.
Back in the studio, Mr Dilly is joined by award-winning author Tom Palmer to explore how stories help young people understand war, memory, courage and the lives of those who lived through extraordinary times.
The episode also includes Mr Dilly’s VE Day 80 short film, featuring multiple characters from the wartime period.
